GigaPORT Expansion Module
The GigaPort Expansion adds 4 ports. Each port can be
independently set as 10/100/1000 Base-T RJ-45 Ethernet,
or 1000 Base-Sx/Lx/Zx Ethernet with multimode or singlemode
SFP.

Optional Accessories:
SFP (optical transceiver):
Sx 850 nm (550Meter)
Lx 1310 nm (10km)
Zx 1550 nm (40km)
GigaTAP-Sx, GigaTAP-Lx, GigaTAP-Zx
The GigaPort Expansion adds 4 optical splitter ports:
can tap two MM or SM FDX fiber links. Split ratio 70/30.
Link TAP Mechanism:
Links protected by passive optical splitter (split ratio
70/30).
GigaTAP-Tx
The GigaTAP-Tx adds four RJ-45 ports organized as two
pairs; each pair taps a single 10/10/1000 Base-T FDX Ethernet
link.
Link TAP Mechanism:
Electronically repeats the link signals when in ACTIVE
mode and port-pairing established.
Optional Accessories:
SFP (optical transceiver):
Sx 850 nm (550Meter)
Lx 1310 nm (10km)
Zx 1550 nm (40km)
GigaLINK-SR, GigaLINK-LR, GigaLINK- ER
The GigaLINK -SR, -LR, or -ER adds one 10 Gigabit Ethernet
fiber optic port to the GivaVUE-420. XFP included.
Link TAP Mechanism:
GLK-312 10 Gig port with XFP SR 850 nm (300 Meter) transceiver,
LC connector
GLK-313 10 Gig port with XFP LR 1310 nm (10 km) transceiver,
LC connector
GLK-314 10 Gig port with XFP ER 1550 nm (40 km) transceiver,
LC connector
Optional Accessories:
XFP (Spare 10G optical transceiver):
XFP-502 SR 850 nm (300 Meter)
XFP-503 LR 1310 nm (10 km)
XFP-504 ER 1550 nm (40 km)
GigaLINK-Cu (10G Copper)
The GigaLINK-Cu adds one 10 Gigabit Ethernet copper CX-4
port.

Optional Accessories:
Stacking cable: CX4 copper cable (5/10/15 Meters)
A Data Access Network is a "Data Socket" for
monitoring tools; adds, changes and moves can be executed
at anytime without physical changes to the production
network. Aggregation and multicasting allow consolidation
of expensive tools and sharing of SPAN ports and taps.
Speed changes and media conversion are easily accommodated.
Network traffic can be "mapped" using multi-rule
filters such that data aggregated from multiple switches
or taps can be redistributed to multiple load-sharing
monitoring tools, with each tool analyzing a specific
VLAN range, port number or IP subnet, thereby performing
comprehensive monitoring without oversubscribing any single
tool.
Data Access Network (DAN) is a revolutionary concept whose
time has come. It is the "intermediation" gateway
between the network and the tools, allowing distributed
connectivity and flexible load balancing between the monitoring
requirement of the production network and resources available
from the mission critical monitoring tools.

Today, every business is eBusiness, every
network is mission critical and every online resource
must be available 24x7. To stay competitive, you need
higher performance, greater bandwidth, more reliability
and lower cost. Downtime, slow response, security breaches
and non-compliance with government regulations and industry
standards not only can get you fired, but could potentially
land you and your bosses in jail.
Today's network is complex. Redundant links are everywhere.
Parallel links are combined into virtual channels. Load-balancers
are breaking up data streams such that packets are made
to travel along different physical paths. In other words,
your business network has been completely "virtualized"
making it impossible to monitor efficiently and cost-effectively
with traditional physical-layer taps and monitoring tools.
Moreover, your security, IT and compliance teams are competing
for data access because they each need to deploy different
monitoring tools to meet their assigned fiduciary mandates
and each of their tools needs to acquire replica traffic
specific to its needs from across the entire network in
order to accurately reconstruct relevant transactions.
You need a better solution to share SPAN ports and support
multiple tools, to aggregate traffic so that everyone
gets a customized view. You need to distribute aggregated
traffic among multiple tools working in parallel in order
to provide comprehensive coverage. Most importantly, you
need to save money by reducing the total number of tools
deployed when monitoring modern enterprise networks.
Our GigaVUE® Data Access Switch is designed to help you
build a scalable and on-demand Data Access Network (DAN)
for distributed "out-of-band" network monitoring
